A refreshed Model Y was revealed in January, but protests and vandalism, linked to Musk's political activities, weighed on the brand, and BYD overtook Tesla as the largest seller of battery-electric cars. Tesla added the Grok assistant to its cars in July, launched Robotaxi in San Francisco in August with an employee in the driver's seat, introduced cheaper Model 3 and Model Y Standard versions in October, and approved a pay package for Musk worth up to $1 trillion in November.
