On July 1, 2020, Tesla passed Toyota to become the world's most valuable automaker, after COVID-19 had forced it to close the Fremont factory in March. Model Y deliveries began in March, construction started on Giga Berlin (February) and Giga Texas (June), Tesla reported its 100,000th Powerwall installation in April, and the first FSD beta reached customers in October.
